Can We Help You File for Free?

The Nevada Free Taxes Coalition (NFTC) offers 100% free, IRS‑certified tax preparation via the VITA program. We serve residents in Las Vegas and Clark County. You do not need to qualify for any specific tax credits, such as the EITC, to access our professional services.

Review the rules below to see if you qualify. If you are still unsure, visit one of our locations for a free intake screening to determine if our team can help.

2025 Income Limit (2026 Season)

General Income Eligibility:

To receive free help, your total household income must be $74,244 or less. This limit applies to all filers regardless of how many people are in their family.

Individuals with investment income under $11,000 may qualify.

Understanding the EITC:
  • Your total annual income must be $74,244 or less. Note that the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is a separate benefit with its own specific IRS rules.
  • Not all clients qualify for the EITC. It is a separate credit that varies by situation. Any EITC figures seen online are maximums; most people receive less.

Outside Our Scope

To maintain precision, specific high-complexity tax filings need a private CPA.

• All rental income is excluded, unless for active military over 50 miles away

• Self-employment with any net loss or over $50,000 in gross annual expenses

• Business costs using actual expenses instead of standard mileage rates

• Limited K-1 forms may be accepted; no inventory or payroll

Who Is Eligible

✅ Most common tax returns

✅ Families with children

✅ Pension and Social Security income

✅ First-time filers

✅ Simple Schedule C with standard mileage and total revenue exceeding expenses

Should your tax situation fall outside VITA guidelines, our staff will provide appropriate expert referrals.
